As a manufacturer of copper and brass products for 81-years, we became alarmed when we saw all of the touchless door opener products popping up online, many of which use inferior materials and are potentially unsafe.

The alloys they use either contain lead, they don’t have enough copper to meet antimicrobial claims or they are made with unknown materials. We decided to tap into our expertise and create a high quality, safe product and at the same time raise money to end hunger in the US.

Symmons SAFEkey™ is a lead-free tool made from pure copper (C110 99.9% Cu) which is registered with the EPA as antimicrobial. It is made in the USA in our factory in Braintree, MA.  

We are donating 10% of every order to Feeding America®, the largest hunger-relief organization in the United States. Through a network of 200 food banks and 60,000 food pantries and meal programs, they provide meals to more than 40 million people each year. 

SAFEkey™ is made from C110 99.9% Copper Alloy which is lead free unlike C260, C360 and other alloys which routinely contain lead.
